GUEST TEACHER

Anjelica is a senior undergraduate at the University of Rhode Island, graduating in May 2025 with a bachelor's degree in Public Health. She is currently working as a teacher assistant at the URI Child Development Center, located in Providence, RI. Anjelica is from Central Falls, RI, and is the daughter of two immigrant parents who are from Guatemala. She enjoys hanging out with family and friends, trying new restaurants, singing, going to church, and deepening her faith with God. 

GUEST TEACHER

Ashley is currently a college student majoring in graphic design while also working as a behavioral specialist. She has always had a passion for working with kids and helping others with their needs, which is why she is considering pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health in the future. Outside of work and school, she is a proud Kenyan and will always carry her roots with pride. She is also a proud Christian, as she can’t forget whose hands are over her life. Honestly, what would one do without Jesus? Also a huge cat lover and will literally melt anytime she sees one. I enjoy traveling and doing anything that involves being creative.

GUEST TEACHER

Haishia is a Social Work major at Rhode Island College and a proud member of the Central Falls community. She is of Guatemalan and Honduran heritage and enjoys working with and supporting young people through education.Outside of school and work, Haishia enjoys working out, going to the beach, and spending time with her friends and family. As someone who is passionate about helping others, she hopes to continue making a positive impact through both education and social work.

Karina is a rising junior from the University of Rhode Island majoring in Psychology and Human Development & Family Sciences. She previously worked as a teacher assistant at the URI Dr. Pat Feinstein Child Development Center. Karina is Puerto Rican and Dominican and lives in Providence with her mother and younger sister. She loves birria tacos, writing poetry, and Lego flowers!

GUEST TEACHER

Christian serves as a Guest Teacher at The Learning Community. A Boston native, she earned her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University in 2009 and spent 15 years working with the Social Security Administration before pursuing her passion for supporting students. As a mom, she understands the importance of creating a positive and nurturing learning environment. In her free time, she enjoys reading Marvel Comics and sharing her enthusiasm for heroes, imagination, and lifelong learning.

GUEST TEACHER

Kasondra is a Guest Teacher with a background in Child Psychology, having studied at New England College. She has gained extensive experience working with children through childcare, camps, and coaching at various levels. Kasondra is passionate about helping children succeed and uses positive reinforcement to build their confidence and encourage them to believe in themselves.

Originally from East Providence, Rhode Island, Kasondra comes from a proud Portuguese background, with her father being born in Portugal. As a two-sport college athlete in lacrosse and field hockey, she developed strong discipline, teamwork, and communication skills. She has carried those lessons into her coaching and work with children, helping them grow both personally and as part of a team.

GUEST TEACHER

Emma graduated from Rhode Island College with a B.S. in Mathematics and is currently pursuing further education to become an actuary. Originally from Los Angeles, California, she has lived in Rhode Island for six years. Emma has worked as a tutor at her college and has extensive experience volunteering with children at museums and summer camps. Outside of work and school, she loves knitting, playing video games, and is a huge musical theater nerd.
