The Exploratorium after-school program, a 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) housed at The Learning Community, operates year-round and includes a four-week summer session. Serving students in grades K–8, the program places a strong emphasis on STEAM-based activities that inspire curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving. With 84% of our students coming from low-income households, we are committed to providing access to high-quality enrichment opportunities, including health and wellness education, targeted academic intervention groups, homework support, recreation, and mentorship. Middle-grade students also enjoy the chance to participate in team sports such as soccer, building both athletic skills and teamwork. Every aspect of the Exploratorium is designed to honor diverse learning styles and nurture students’ social-emotional growth, ensuring they have the tools to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
