The Learning Community is currently seeking candidates interested in being part of a dynamic team that will design and implement our middle grades, extending the Calkins workshop model and expanding our talented support team. New team members will have a unique opportunity to work with nationally-known experts such as Donna Santman as well as our talented internal team!

The Learning Community, an innovative K-8 charter school with 88% poverty rate, 79% English language learners and high student achievement, is proving that poverty is not a barrier to success. We are accepting applications now through February 2010 for the positions listed below to allow ample time for finding our newest team members and to allow candidates time to consider our school community. We will be hiring for additional positions for 2011.

Teachers feel respected and supported here, and as a result our attrition rate is very low.  Nearly 40% of our team is people of color. Over 40% speak Spanish.  All of our teachers are certified and 70% have graduate degrees.
